For more than 40 years Alex Tavares has had a fine arts career teaching in India, Kenya and Canada;
organizing art festivals and mentoring students. His work has participated in numerous solo and group
international exhibitions since1957. He is currently retired from teaching in Toronto and has relocated to
Mount Albert where he continues his sculpture work. Tavares was elected into the Sculptors Society of
Canada in 2004.
